Independence Day is just around the corner. Let’s celebrate with some fresh scans of Dodge’s finest midsize sedan from 1985.
Because with “the best of all the world, in a world of all the best*,” you owe yourself some pink lighting.
That cursive just makes it classier, doesn’t it? My only ragret with this brochure is that it does not feature a Shelby version. However, I will make up for that with tomorrow’s post.
What’s inside the 1985 Dodge Lancer? Bald eagles and cheeseburgers, ladies and gentlemen. Unadulterated ‘Merica.
*This is an actual quote from the brochure.

I’m I wonder if Mistubishi stole the last name from Chryslers or if Chysler stole it from Mitsubishi.
Also is this a K car? If so Lancer is best K car because lift back.

Well, there was the Plymouth and Dodge Lancer in the early sixties, so I guess Chrysler came up with the name first. And yes, the Lancer is a K-Car.

H-platform, so essentially a long-wheelbase K Car.

Dodge used the Lancer nameplate off and on starting in 1955. Mitsubishi started using the Lancer nameplate in 1973.

A neighbor of mine still daily drives one of these. His is gold/brown, and still in great shape. In fact I just saw it drive by this morning as I was working in my driveway.

Still one of my favorite K cars ever.
